Kim Bodnia stars in Killing Eve as Konstantin, Villanelle’s handler.
Kim Bodnia is a Danish actor educated at the Denmark Copenhagen Theatre school (1988-1991). After a hugely successful theatre career as an actor and creator of new Danish theatre in Copenhagen, he had his breakthrough in film in Nightwatch (1994), for which he received a Robert Award for Best Supporting actor. Kim’s second Robert Award came for his outstanding performance in The Bridge (Bron/Broen) which also brought him awards and nominations at the Monte-Carlo TV Festival, including The Golden Nymph award in 2014 for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series.
Kim Bodnia’s next lead role was in Pusher, in which he played Frank. Films such as Bleeder (1999), In China They Eat Dogs (1999), Escape (2001), Dragonfly (2001), Jolly Roger (2001), Old Men in New Cars (2002), and Himmelfald (2002) cemented Kim’s reputation as an actor who delivers consistently great performances.
In 2010, he portrayed Lars in Susanne Bier's Oscar® winner Best Foreign Language Film In A Better World. Then in 2011, he made his Bollywood debut in the Aamir Khan-produced film Delhi Belly. Kim Bodnia’s other notable film credits include Laif in Love Is All You Need with Pierce Brosnan; Jon Stewart’s debut feature, Rosewater, opposite Gael Garcia Bernal; Terribly Happy, for which he won a Bodil Award for Best Supporting Actor, and multiple episodes of the award-winning The Killing.
After his early success in both small and big screen productions, he became founder and owner of Bella Entertainment Aps and Bella Film Production Aps through which he has continued to produce television and films, getting behind the camera as director, writer and producer.
